About Yaneth Del Carmen Baez

Yaneth Del Carmen Baez is a candidate for the open Seat 69 for Circuit Court Judge in Miami-Dade County. She currently serves as an Assistant State Attorney in the Human Trafficking Unit at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where she has spent the past nine years protecting and serving the community.
Prior to joining the Human Trafficking Unit, Yaneth served as Chief of the Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Unit, where she trained more than 50 newly hired prosecutors. Throughout her career, she has handled a wide range of cases from misdemeanor batteries to homicides, including the trafficking of minor children demonstrating both depth and breadth of legal experience.
A proud Miami native, Yaneth was born and raised in the community she now seeks to serve on the bench. She graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida International University. She later attended the University of Akron School of Law in Ohio, where she discovered her passion for public service.
During law school, Yaneth interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and dedicated herself to extensive pro bono work with nonprofit organizations. She was recognized by her graduating class for completing over 200 hours of pro bono service. After earning her Juris Doctor, she returned home to Miami-Dade County to begin her career in public service.
Yaneth has been nominated by the Judicial Nominating Commission and forwarded to the Governor’s Office for consideration. She was named Human Trafficking Prosecutor of the Year for 2025 by Attorney General James Uthmeier, recognized by the Miami-Dade Bar as one of the “Excellent Attorneys 40 Under 40,” and honored with the Public Service Award by the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association.
Beyond her professional work, Yaneth remains deeply committed to her community. She serves on the board of Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services and is actively involved with the League of Prosecutors, the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association, and the National Black Prosecutors Association.
